AlaCop, Inc.


2024 Update: While AlaCop.us is still an active non-profit corporation, due to changing IRS regulations the operations of AlaCop.us reverted to private ownership when all donations under AlaCop, Inc were depleted. The owner, Phillip Calvert, now funds all operation expenses personally. While we do continue to accept donations, they are not tax deductible unless specifically noted as tax deductible for special projects.

AlaCop, Inc.is a private non-profit corporation established to support law enforcement officers and their families. AlaCop,Inc. qualifies as a 501(c)(3) organization, recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a recipient of tax-deductible donations. AlaCop, Inc. is governed by a Board of Directors and performs daily operations under the direction of an Administrator, who serves as the President of the Board of Directors. Everyone (including our Directors) who work with AlaCop, Inc. are volunteers and receive no pay for any time or work completed on our behalf. AlaCop has been in operation, offering free services to the law enforcement community since 1997. AlaCop was incorporated in 2007.

The AlaCop Inc. Board of Directors are Phillip, Karen, and Nathan Calvert.


Phillip has served as a law enforcement officer for more than 34 years at the city, county, and state level. He currently serves as a Police Sergeant for the Faulkner University Police Department and Adjunct Instructor for the Criminal Justice and Legal Studies Department of Faulkner University; having previously served as BCJ Director, Assistant Professor for the Criminal Justice and Legal Studies Department and Chief of Police for Faulkner University. He retired at the rank of Captain with the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board's Law Enforcement Division. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy - Session 237 in Quantico, Virginia. Phillip holds a Bachelor's Degree and Masters Degree from Faulkner University. He has completed additional graduate level studies at Troy University Dothan, University of Virginia, and American Military University. Phillip has instructed undergraduate level courses at Troy University Dothan. He has served as the Alabama Representative to the Board of Directors for the Regional Organized Crime Information Center and currently serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Institute for Criminal Justice Education, Inc, Phillip previously served as Sgt-at-Arms and Secretary/Treasurer for the National Liquor Law Enforcement Association.

Karen is a local artist for the Cullman, Alabama area specializing in handpainted wooden American flags and crafts. Karen has completed undergraduate level courses at Faulkner University and Troy University Dothan.

Nathan serves as a Police Officer for the Wallace State Community College Police Department. He previously served as a Campus Safety Officer, Police Corporal, and Police Sergeant for the Faulkner University Police Department. He completed his Bacholor of Science in Criminal Justice and is currently completing his Master of Science in Justice Administration at Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama. Nathan is a FLETC certified Instructor for Use of Force. Nathan is interested in music and several martial arts styles. He holds the rank of 1st Degree Youth Black Belt in Han Mu Do and Red Belt in Tae Kwon Do. He has also trained in Krav Maga, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Systema, and other martial arts/defensive tactics programs.

Our Accomplishments


*AlaCop Inc. has provided more than $150 worth of law enforcement equipment items to police officers for their use in their daily duties. It is important that high quality equipment is available to keep our Police Officers safe and healthy.

*AlaCop Inc. has collected and distributed more than $2,000 for the families of Police Officers who have been seriously injured or killed in the line of duty. This funding helps to pay for hotel, bills, meals, and other living expenses for these families while they deal with extremely stressful days.

*AlaCop Inc. has purchased and distributed copies of "Protecting Your First Responder Marriage" Study Guide by Chuck Douglas. This is a very personal guide for individual couples and groups to help them deal with the stresses of marriage when a stressful career is involved.

*AlaCop Inc. has been providing communication services to law enforcement officers for more than 18 years.

*AlaCop Inc. has served more than 600 active police officers across the United States.

*Over the past 18+ years, AlaCop Inc. has served more than 1,000 police officers from more than 300 agencies.
